The proposed software, �LIBRARY INFORMATION SYSTEM�, is meant to provide better performance than the existing system by rectifying the above said drawbacks.
   The basic objective of this project has been to create a database management system to be used by a library. The collection of programs and data files in this project help to carry out the basic functions of a library besides maintaining data based containing information about the various books available.     An attempt has been made to simplify the working of library by reducing the amount of physical records to be maintained in the absence of any computerization.  
    A new database management system for the use in library has been created using C++ programming language. Simple C++ logics and syntax has been used to fabricate the program. Many facilities had been included in the program to reduce the burdens of the librarian and the students.
   Further developments and maintenance of the program and technical additions will make management of library very easy.
